Kornegay and Moseley

Before you commit

Don’t sign anything from Kornegay and Moseley(or any funeral home) before you’ve seen the General Price List in writing. Get the GPL, take it home, compare it with two other homes, ask questions about anything that’s unclear. The Funeral Rule forbids any funeral home from requiring an in-person visit just to get prices — phone and email work.

Also useful before you call:

• The FTC Funeral Rule guide — your seven federal rights at any funeral home, including the right to bring your own casket and decline embalming.
• Estimate funeral costs in South Carolina with our regional pricing calculator. Use the result as a sanity check against any quote Kornegay and Moseley gives you.
• See other funeral homes in South Carolina — you’ll want at least three GPLs before you commit.
